The Tails of Wisteria Ranch - June 2008

Ramblings on the Ranch

Hi Everyone,

How do you like our new look? I had a graphic artist, Jody Luizer, design a new header for the newsletter and for our website. We are still working on making the website changes. Oh, and the blog -- getting that done too -- stay tuned!

After many discussions and much soul searching, Billy and I have decided we are no longer going to breed our Cavaliers. This was a very difficult decision, as we have enjoyed breeding and raising them. I have had several people over the last few months email me requesting an older Cavalier, so we have been busy contacting these families and working on finding a good fit for them and our Cavaliers.

The youngest of our three children has been attending college the last couple of years and only comes home on the occasional weekend. If you have been following our newsletter, Billy and I have had the opportunity to travel some over the last year and had a wonderful person, Cindy, who was able to stay here and babysit our dogs for us. Her children have now graduated from high school and attending college, so things are changing. Where we used to need a babysitter for our children, we now need one for our Cavaliers, as they live indoors with us and someone needs to be here to let them in and out.

While our Goldens take turns being indoors with us, they do have housing outdoors that is heated and air-conditioned, so it is easier to find someone to care for them during the day, but not have to have them spend the night at our house. Living in the country where we do, it is hard to find someone that we can trust to take care of our home and our Cavaliers while we are gone.

We currently have some Cavalier puppies from Sunny and Bella's litter still available and Trixie just had a litter on June 27th. These will be the last babies we have.

Many Blessings!
Billy & Debbie

"Dognapping on the Rise"

I was very surprised when I read that AKC has tracked more than 30 reports of dogs stolen in the first three months of 2008 and only had 10 in 2007. Read more about the rise of Dognapping and what you can do to protect your family from this happening to you. Also, note the warning given to breeders about allowing unknown families to come into their homes portraying themselves as prospective buyers -- read the full store here:

We Recommend

KONG SNUGGA WUBBA

These are the best toys. Our Cavaliers and our Goldens love them. They come in different sizes and are great for puppies, as well as the adults to tug and play with each other -- and you too! They are pretty durable too! We haven't had to replace any so far!
